Small Batch Prints runs smallbatchprints.co.uk and is responsible for the personal information you give us here. We keep as little as we can, and we never sell it.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address and delivery address, when you send us an order.
  • What you ordered, when, and what it cost.
  • Anything you write to us, such as a custom order request or a question.
  • If you leave a review: the name you choose to show, your star rating and words, any photo you add, and your email address if you give it (it's never shown).
  • Your email address, if you join our newsletter.

The “Which critter are you?” quiz runs in your browser: your answers aren't saved or sent anywhere.

When you pay by card, Stripe takes the payment on its own secure page. We never see or keep your card details; Stripe tells us the payment went through and the amount.

Why we use it

  • To make, post and follow up your order, and to reply to you (to carry out our contract with you).
  • About a week after we post a website order, to email you once to ask how it's going and whether you'd like to leave a review (our legitimate interest in hearing how our things turn out). Just the one email, whether or not you're on our newsletter, and no offers in it.
  • To keep the records UK tax law asks for (a legal obligation).
  • To show your review, and your photo if you add one, on this site once we've checked it (your consent, which you can take back at any time).
  • To send you our newsletter and your welcome code, if you've joined (your consent, which you can take back at any time).
  • To count visits to the site, without identifying you (our legitimate interest in running the shop).

Who we share it with

Only the services that run the shop for us, each for its own part:

  • Royal Mail, which gets your name and address to deliver your order.
  • Google (Gmail), where our email is kept.
  • Cloudflare, which passes emails sent to our address on to that inbox.
  • Vercel, which hosts the website and counts visits.
  • Supabase, which holds our stock and sales records, your website orders, and the reviews and photos you send us.
  • Brevo, which keeps our newsletter list and sends our emails: the newsletter, your order to us with a copy to you, and the one email asking for a review.
  • Stripe, which takes card payments: your name, email, delivery address and payment details, for the payment and delivery only.

How long we keep it

  • Order emails and records: 6 years, as UK tax law requires.
  • Messages that don't turn into an order: up to 2 years, then deleted.
  • Reviews and their photos: for as long as they're on the site. Ask us and we'll take yours down and delete it.
  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link in any newsletter email.
  • You can ask us to delete anything we don't have to keep by law.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Email [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Our newsletter

If you join, we keep your email address on our list at Brevo and email you news about new critters, restocks and offers, starting with your welcome code. When you use the code, we note that on your record there, so it works once. Sign-ups are for grown-ups (18 or over). We don't share the list with anyone else. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to take you off at [email protected].

Visitor numbers

We count visits ourselves and with Vercel Web Analytics: which pages are viewed, roughly which country visitors are in, and the name of the site that sent them. Our own count also notes steps towards an order (adding something to the basket, starting checkout, signing up), so we can see where people stop. Neither uses cookies. Visitors are told apart by a code that changes every day and can't be traced back to you, and your IP address is never stored.

Cookies

We don't use tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser keeps a few small things for you:

  • Your cart, so it's still there if you come back later.
  • Whether you've closed or used the newsletter pop-up, so it doesn't keep appearing.
  • A sign-in cookie, only for us, on the shop's admin pages.

You can clear these any time in your browser settings.
